Maternity Swimwear has all kinds of great suits out this summer. Brands like Maternal America, Prego Maternity and Belabumbum have some to-die-for styles that make you want to be pregnant, if you are not already, just so you can sport these looks! Here are a few personal favorites and bestsellers this season:

Maternal American's Jenni Tankini in Fiesta Print is hands down the winner for this summer's hottest maternity swimsuit. This suit simply has everything going for it. First this print offers a delicious blend of patterns and colors from a connective coral theme of light blue and bronze accents. Second, this suit has a fabulous body style with under the belly bikinis with adjustable side ties to an O-ring design strapless with halter ties. You can wear the halter bowed in front as a strapless or tied around the neck as a string halter style. Maybe I am biased, but Maternal America has just nailed their prints this season. The Josie Halter style is sexy and sweet with the classic V neck adjustable tie halter and side tie bikini bottoms. Although the Fruit punch and Sky Blue solid colors are super cute in this suit, the Flower Power print is simply adorable. The only drawback to this suit is that it does not provide a huge amount of bust support, so the DD and plus ladies who are looking for a little extra lift, would probably be better suited in another style.

 

One more Maternal America suit this is super hot this summer is the 2 Piece Flutter Halter Tankini in Papaya. Both color and style complete this look which is sizzling hot. The Flutter Halterkini has a padded bra with adjustable tie halter strings that can be worn bowed in front for a strapless style or tied in back of the neck for a little extra support and style. The front ruching is very flattering in the bra and the mesh cross-over tankini is perfect for an expanding belly. The Flutter Halterkini style is a great hybrid of a bikini and a tankini since you can show a hint of skin through the mesh without baring all in bikini. It's also super cool and comfortable for sensitive skin on growing tummies. This style is also available in black as well as a fun carnival print with a matching cover-up.

 

If you are looking or great mini, then look no further than Prego Maternity's Strapless Mini in Black Dots. Prego makes a very durable and well-made maternity swimsuit which is secure in the water and on the land. All Prego Minis come with a detachable halter string for an alternative look and a little added support for swimming. This strapless style looks like a pretty mini dress that you can swim in. This suit covers hips and bottom creating a flattering silhouette with the mini style. Bottoms fit securely over the belly but are not visible under the suit unless you are swimming. The black dot suit in the strapless is a hands down favorite. However the solid black and chocolate in this style are also sure to please the crowds.

 

Finally, if you are looking for a sexy maternity suit that you can also nurse in after you have your baby or just to hide your postpartum belly, then look no further than Belabumbum's Nursing Swimwear Tankini in Pink. This suit is super sexy in hot pink with a front tie in contrasting light pink. Straps are wide and supportive without looking heavy duty. Nursing access is from under the front tie and very discreet. The tankini is roomy over the belly and covers the hips. Bikini bottoms fit under the belly with plenty of stretch. This is a suit you can wear with style both before and after you have your baby.

What is traction? The physical therapist first put me in a harness. They had me wear a vest-like apparatus, and attached another one to go the opposite way, as I lied down on the traction table, with pillows under my head. Then, they hooked me to a Tens Machine (I'll explain that in a moment) and then turned on both systems. It felt wonderful, I could've stayed there all evening. After roughly twenty minutes, they unhooked me, and I was amazed to be able to walk around much more comfortably than when I walked in the place. Whoever invented this wonderful apparatus did back pain sufferers a really big favor.

What is a Tens Unit? It is a machine that emits minor electrical pulses to the area that is in pain, working the muscles and giving relief to the area. There are different kinds of pulses, some ping and some pulse, but they all feel great. I had the physical therapist crank it up as high as possible, and it made my pains go away for the time I was using it. Amazing. I'd been doubled over with serious pain, even with medicines like Celebrex and Tylenol with Codeine in my system. This worked better than both of those together, hands down.

On the wall was a poster, explaining the spine, in minute detail. Very interesting. It's much more complicated than I could ever imagine. I had the therapist show me where my L5 lumbar area was, because that is where the herniated disk is. Half the benefit of going to physical therapy is the instruction on what to do with your problem. They teach you how to get up correctly without straining your back, what the best position for sleeping with a bad back (on your back with a pillow under your knees), and other useful mobility tips. Hearing all the correct ways to treat my body, it was apparent to me that I've really been abusing my poor spine for most of my life. No wonder I've had lesser bouts of back pain for the last twenty years, culminating in a more severe case this time around. I learned my lesson.

The therapist told me to slowly, gradually, build up my stamina by walking and doing light exercizes. He told me to listen to my body, if I feel pain then it's time to stop. I did a little walking this evening. Thanks to the traction therapy, I am much more comfortable. It will be a long and slow recovery from sciatica but at least I now know there is hope. Having to go to a spine doctor and for physical therapy for the first time in my life was initially really scary to me. But, truthfully, it was an unexpected relief. Nobody gave me shots in my spine, or manhandled me. There wasn't any torturous pain inflicted on me, just a few tests to see how strong or weak my muscles are, a CT scan and a few x-rays. I heard another patient ask the therapist what happens if the physical therapy doesn't work. The next step is getting shots in the back, he said. No way, I told him to fix me, so I never need to get to that level of treatment. The next level of treatment after those shots is surgery. I want to avoid all of that, and am glad to know that they don't push these things on us. They wait to see how we respond. And, I can tell that the therapy is working, so I am going to build up my stamina by doing as told.

If you suffer from crippling back pain, make sure to go to a specialist and have him look at your back. He will probably give you pain killers and prescribe physical therapy. I reccommend it, and wish you a speedy recovery. I'm so glad I finally went. No more toughing it out for me. It gives me hope of a pain-free future and shows it's needless to suffer in silence. Been there, done that.

You are exactly right. You are NOT supposed to take hot baths when you're pregnant. You regulate your baby's body temperature, and if your body temperature increases, it's not good for your baby.

I am just like you, I love hot baths, but now I can't take them. If you really must get some hot water over you, take quick hot shower. You will get the warm sensation of the water, but you will not heat up as much. It's kind of a compromise between you and your baby. ) Congrats!

In this world there are many names that, when spoken, command respect. They are spoken and people automatically trust them. John Deere is one of those names. Anyone who has ever mowed a lawn, plowed a field, or even played with toy tractors as a child knows that name. John Deere Tractors is a household phrase that people have come to rely on.

According to Consumer Reports, the John Deere X304 is the top rated of the automatic drive model tractors. Justification for this rating falls in the very design of the tractor itself. This lawn tractor has cruise control. Ideal for lawns riddled with obstacles, the X304 cuts extremely close to trees and shrubs leaving a very minimal amount of grass to be trimmed. It offers smooth and even cutting. This model is very user friendly and the different attachments are easy to take on and off. The clippings bag has a large capacity allowing you to mow a larger area before having to stop and dump it. The easy to adjust cutting deck has a 42 inch radius. This allows you to make fewer passes over your yard, cutting your work load down to size.

This mulching mower is preferred for its superior cutting, mulching, and tight turning maneuverability. The automatic drive as well as the cruise control feature makes for a very comfortable drive. One main drawback to this particular tractor is the price. It sells for an average of $3,500 but it does come with a long warranty.

For those on a tighter budget, the John Deere LA115 is an economical solution selling for an average of $1,650 and is a model designed specifically for homeowners with smaller, flat lawns that are generally free from obstacles. This model also offers a comfortable ride with an adjustable seat and headlamps. It was not designed to cut as closely as the previously mentioned tractor but has a 42 inch, two wheeled cutting deck. This lawn tractor has strong performance while bagging and mulching but the kits to do both must be purchased separately.

The John Deere LA115 does not handle taller grasses and weeds as good as the X304. It has a strong engine but will show its limitations when being forced up inclines and can take a few passes to get the really stubborn weed patches and even after the weeds or rougher patches are cut, they may be uneven. This tractor is easy to clean via the built in wash port. All in all, the John Deere LA115 Lawn Tractor is an excellent, economical model for the homeowner with light to medium mowing needs.

Basically, if you have a lawn, a garden, a field, or anything out of doors that needs plowed, mowed, or trimmed, there is a new or used John Deere Tractor that is sure to fit your specific needs and budget. With all of the optional attachments like mulching, bagging, or snow blowing you can make the job and your life run like a Deere, a John Deere.

Happiness verses UN-Happy? Feeling sadness verses feelings of elation?

I was prompted by someone dear to me to consider what happiness is and how to find it. I must tell you ahead of time that I am an artist and my consideration of happiness might be distorted from yours.. yes you may think so. My approach is that we are ALL floundering to find our way. We stumble, recognize the pebbles and sometimes boulders and then? We continue on because we have learned a few things. (?)

Take me with a grain of salt and perhaps your own conclusions as well.

You can't let anyone, be it spouse or lover, put you in a 'specific' box, just because you don't know what kind of box works for you. Just because what makes them happy does not make you happy, does not mean that you can't be happy, once you FIND what makes you happy. You can't settle for what someone else loves in life, just because you don't know yet. Just because you don't feel the same as another person, does not mean there is something wrong with you.

Here is what "I" think...

Happiness is a very elusive thing... overrated as I have said before to some who know me. It comes in spurts.. and I think most times we don't recognize it when it is...

ALL AROUND US...

and then...

It is gone.

We have to try to see it when it is there though and then begin to embrace it. The more we do, the more we will understand what there was/is about it that makes us feel that way. I think it is much easier to cradle.. coddle even, pain and the dark side. I do that... that is what art is about to me. I am just being honest as an artist with the artist's soul I was born with. I have always said and felt too, that there is nothing particularly "interesting about happy". It just isn't that interesting... and does not spring forth any great works of art. There are many who would beg to differ with me... and I understand their approach to things, but it just does not work for me. Am I doomed for depression? At times I guess yes. A bitter pill is swallowed and I hold it within my trembling hands before I partake... each and every single time.

I think it so fitting that this is the end of the movie... the credits, as if it is our very lives being considered.

I think there is a part of ME that does not really want to be happy... in happy there is no art, not what I consider to be true art... no true passion and the mere fact that it is so fleeting makes it too fragile to deal with. So again I go back to "What is INTERESTING about happy?"

There is a spot inside everyone's soul that seeks to understand their passion... and so they eternally lust after it. I do. You do, even if you deny that it might come artistically... it does. If God exists at all, it is in creativity. He/she... IT... IS CREATIVITY. Consider flowers in the desert. To deny that part of yourself.. or for me to put it on the shelf, is in fact the greatest sin. But as I wrote... this is just me, take it or leave it.

I say...

FEEL DEEPLY

SEEK WHAT YOU FEEL WITH A LOVERS LUST AND FEED THAT PASSION.

And if you don't know what it is? It is NEVER up to ANYONE else to tell you or to confine you in theirs...

the RESPONSIBILITY IS YOURS.

This is after all... YOUR LIFE.

Life is fragile and yet... difficult to kill. We give it away or we honor it... it is up to you and up to me to do with it as we will.

The mix of happiness and unhappiness is so that we will know the difference.

We are not in Africa watching our baby being held high with a sword... that is not unhappy, that is evil. So we can't confuse those things with atrocities. We must recognize them though.. because it takes true passion to overcome evil.

Back to being happy? IS IT in those fleeting seconds that are within a song that makes us feel that we can indeed fly? If so, that is passion known.

To neglect it is like leaving a baby on the side of the road unattended.

Pick up the baby...IT IS "YOU".

Modern painter Maurice de Vlaminck was born on April 4, 1876, in Paris. Both his parents were musicians. His mother, Josephine Grillet, was a pianist and his father, Edmond Julien de Vlaminck, was a violinist. Music was like second nature to Maurice. He learned to play violin and bass from his father. At the age of 16, the artist moved to Paris to learn painting under painter Henri Rigalon. He earned his living as a violinist and a bicycle racer. Vlaminck married Suzanne Berly in 1894 and later joined the army.

In 1900, at the age of 23, Maurice de Vlaminck's artistic ambitions rekindled on a chance meeting with Andre Derain in a train to Paris, towards the last phase of his assignment in army. Together, they rented a studio to paint after Vlaminck's stint in the army ended. The studio lasted for a year, until Derain left for his assignment in forces. Vlaminck attended an exhibition of Vincent Van Gogh's works in 1901. Gogh's bold use of colors floored Maurice. The artist later met Claude Monet and Henri Matisse in 1902. During 1902-03, Maurice wrote many novels with slight pornographic flavor. Derain illustrated them. For his artistic interest, Vlaminck would paint during day and would teach violin and play in music bands at night, to earn his livelihood.

Maurice's paintings were mostly "Impressionist" in style. Matisse encouraged the painter to exhibit at the 'Salon des Indépendents' 1904, where two of his groundbreaking paintings of 1900 were displayed, "At the Bar," and "Man Smoking a Pipe." In 1905, Matisse, Derain, and Vlaminck together exhibited at the 'Salon D Automne.' Here, the art critic, Louis Vauxcelles, labeled them as "Fauves," due to their exuberant and uninhibited use of color.

"The Daughter of My Neighbor," "Intimacy," "Gardens of Chatou" (1904), "Picnic in the Country" (1905), and "Circus" (1906) are some examples of his 'Fauvist' works. By 1907, Vlaminck's painting style evolved to experimental 'Cubism,' which was later described as negated painting. In 1908, he began painting 'Realist' landscapes, quite close to Paul Cezanne's style. With time, Maurice's paintings became more orderly with subdued color. "The Potato Pickers" (1907) "Barges" (1908-1910) and "The Flood, Ivry" (1910) are his "Post-Fauvism" works. By 1910, he was famous all over Europe. In 1911, he went to London and painted views of Thames. In 1913, he painted in association with Derain.

Vlaminck's assignment of duty in Paris during the World War I, in around 1914, interrupted his painting. During his stint in defense, the artist wrote poetries. After the war too, the artist stayed back in Paris and opened a painting studio here. His exhibition of 1919 at Druet was a huge success and he then bought a house in Valmondois. By this time, Vlaminck had developed a strong 'Expressionist' style, using impetuous brushwork and cool earthy colors. Among his most characteristic late canvases are "Sunset" (1938), "Hamlet in Snow" (1943), "Harvest in Storm" (1948), and "Red Tractor" (1956). Meanwhile, he married too for the second time to Berthe Combes. The couple had two daughters. 1925 onwards, the painter travelled throughout France.

Maurice de Vlaminck was self taught and painted just for the passion of art. He remained resolutely apart from any accepted norms or the trends of 'Contemporary Art.' In addition to being a painter, he produced lithographs etchings and woodcuts too. Maurice de Vlaminck died of old age on October 11, 1958.

Mexican cooking at home doesn't have to an impossible task to accomplish. Try using the following kitchen equipment for the next in-home Mexican meal.

Comal: Basically, a comal is a cast iron griddle and is used without oil. It's flat with a handle and is used for making tortillas and roasting foods that require no oil. Mexican comals also can be made of clay.

Molcajete and Tejolote: Mortar and Pestle, these are used for crushing and grinding herbs, spices and seeds. The bowl and grinder are made from porous volcanic rock and are still used today. You can also make traditional Mexican salsa in the Molcajete and Tejolote.

Prensa (Tortilla Press): A tortilla press can be metal or wood, with two hinged plates and a handle. A tortilla press is used to flatten the dough for making tortillas.

Tamale Steamer: Tamale Steamers can be purchased at any Mexican cuisine store or market or you can make one yourself. Using a large enough stock pot to fit a metal colander lined with foil in the bottom, pour about an inch of water in the pot. The foil keeps the tamales from touching the water. Place the tamales in the colander and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Cover the pot tightly with a lid.

Cazuela: a clay pot or bowl still used in Mexico today for boiling corn, stews and beans. Though many Mexican households now use Olla Express (Pressure Cooker) to make beans, they still place the beans in a cazuela for the final few minutes of cooking to give beans that authentic Mexican flavor.

Metate y Mano (Hand Grinder): This tool looks like a short 3 legged table with a concave surface about the size of a platter. A large cylinder of stone is used for grinding spices, herbs and seeds. You can also find larger versions made for sitting at. Metate y Mano is made from stone or lava rock and is still used today in many Mexican households.

Molinillo (Wood Whisk or Stirrer): This ancient tool is used to create foam in hot chocolate. Place between your hands and rotate the whisk back and forth briskly. Molinillos can be plain or highly decorated.

Olla: A bean pot made of clay. Most Olla's are beautifully decorated and glazed. Cooking beans in an olla gives beans a far superior taste than cooking them in metal pans or even a slow cooker. Olla's look beautiful sitting on the counter when not in use and make a great gift. Fill the pot with bags of beans and seasoning and give to your friends or relatives who love authentic Mexican cooking.

Why isn't the cast of Twilight in the October issue of In Style?

I went out yesterday to buy the October issue of In Style magazine with anticipation that there was supposed to be a whole exclusive with the Twilight cast in it. Then when I got home, there was nothing about Twilight in the magazine at all. What gives? Does anyone know why the article wasn't in there? Or maybe I got the wrong one?

i don't know for sure but since the movie isn't out until november (us) or december for uk i'm guessing they pulled it back so that it nearer the film release. so it might not even be until the december issue (out end of october)
