What is it that draws so many people to snowmobile racing? Is it the snow, the snowmobiles themselves, or perhaps the crisp fresh air of winter? Suffice to say the draw is all of the above mentioned.

Snowmobile racing is a cross between watching the Daytona 500, speed skating, and roller derby. Throw in a few hairpin turns and paint the snowmobiles bright neon colors, and you have yourself a snowmobile race. Where are some of these snowmobile or snowcross races held?

Eagle River, Wisconsin has had a snowmobile derby for the past 41 years and this race and location is rich in history. In 1944 the first snowmobile (well at least one that closely resembles the models of today) was built. It basically consisted of a toboggan on skis that could be driven over the snow. During the 60s is when the thought of using snowmobiles in the form of a sport caught the attention of many. The idea came as a way to boost the winter economy and boost, it did. The snowmobile derby in Eagle River today can draw crowds of as many as 50,000 people.

West Yellowstone in Montana has some excellent areas for experiencing the thrill of riding your snowmobile and they also have the Snowmobile Expo. There are also several snowmobile race competitions to enjoy. The races bring in the cream of the crop and you will not be disappointed watching the freestyle techniques of the professionals! The Three Bear Lodge is a great place to stay due to the fact that you are near the best trails and action around. After a long day on the trails, you can come back to the Lodge and relax. Then you will make you are way to the Expo and races all are within a close proximity to your accommodations.

Salem, New Hampshire has a snowmobile-racing site also at Rockingham Park. The racers will go over jumps that could be as much as 30 feet high and take them a distance of more than 80 feet in the air. This is an amazing race to watch as the skill level ranges from beginners, semi-professionals, to professionals all racing through bumps, turns, ramps and going as much as 60 miles per hour.

There is also the International 500 that began in the 1960s and is run entirely by volunteers. The volunteers prepare the track; the snowmobile racers come, qualify and race at top speeds. The spectators love it and you will, too. This great race began with the simple comment of one man asking another man how many miles can snowmobiles run consecutively. Thus the International 500 Snowmobile Race came to life. Come and visit Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.

Island Pond, Vermont has joined the ranks of many other states hosting the snowmobile racing teams. The particular team that met up in Vermont is part of the Rock Maple Northeast SnoCross Series. If you have the opportunity to watch these professionals in action, it is amazing to see them flying across the snow. They reach upwards of 60 miles per hour as they try to make the hairpin turns, fly over the bumps without hitting another racer or wiping out themselves. It is truly exhilarating!

People wear clothes in order to protect their bodies from natural conditions. Heat, extreme cold weather, humidity, and strong sunlight, are some of the reasons why people have begun wearing clothes in the first place. But human clothes have over the years evolved into a symbol in itself. Conveying a social message to a variety of decoders, clothes, accessories, and decorations, have become a reliable way to denote social status, occupation, economic situation, ethnicity, marital status, sexual orientation and religious affiliation. Thus, for different people around the globe, clothes have become one of the most crucial parts-if not the only one-of a person appearance.

But, to be able to interpret what one is trying to state with the specific selection of garment or accessories he or she has on, the other party has to be adequately trained to receive and translate the "hidden" messages. This is the reason why stereotypes and characterizations have found a fertile ground to grow, although most are falsely used by those who attempt to translate the message. Focusing on generalities an individual may comprehend only one part of the story the clothes another man or woman wears are conveying. Finding out which is the correct meaning of one's wardrobe has evolved into a study discipline over the years, helping researchers identify and consciously construct the underlying messages of another culture.

Then again, fashion is one of those industries that is constantly experiencing tremendous changes. Sticking with one type of message and filtering every clothing attempt using such a lucid base is totally wrong. Since the manner and the rate at which fashion changes varies among cultures and historic moments, the modern global citizens have to be able to exercise constant restructuring of their fashion principles and devote the necessary time and effort to translating the clothing patterns of different generations. If for example wearing a suit at work was the only acceptable type of dress-code in Western societies, migration and cultural exchange have introduced different types of acceptable fashion statements in the business environment. The same is applicable to the use of decoration items as symbols. While a wealthy social status may have been expressed via the use of heavy jewelry, today an expensive brand-name can illustrate much more than economic sovereignty. On the other hand, since no law prohibits lower-status people from wearing high-status garments, the displayed message one will receive just from examining the appearance denominator can lead to false conclusions. Thus, contemporary sociologists and anthropologists support that the social effect of clothing is limited to one's understanding and is subject to prior experiences and intercultural barriers. Careful examination and continuous intercultural exchange can be the only tools one has today in order to increase his or her chances of translating a garment's or decoration's message accurately.

ok the new tomb raider game is amazing - to me any way lol. i just want to know what you other lara croft fans think of it. i meen many people have said the amount of glitches in the game make it unplayable but to be honest i dont care

I didn't find the glitches to make the game unplayable. A few frustrating moments, but nothing like AoD glitchy. I like the game. The graphics are great, the storyline is awesome and it's totally replayable. It's not my favorite. I tend to like the harder games. While Underworld had some confusing parts, it was overall pretty easy.

But this is coming from an old school Raider fan. My favorite games are the first one and Last Revelation

Buy it online from the Wii Nintendo Shop Channel. I loved Donkey Kong Country as a little kid, especially playing 2 player with my sister. I think the game costs around 800 Wii points.

In any spiritual path one follows, inevitably, the idea of letting go rears its head. Why is it so important? Why is it so difficult? As women spiritual leaders, we can face this conundrum in a myriad of ways. Not only on our own path, but also when dealing with others - for example when we are ministering to our people, we must approach them free of expectations and requirements; in many forms of meditation, we are asked to let our thoughts go as they appear; in counseling sessions, we must let go of preconceived projections and outcomes.

What are some of the things we need to let go of? Well, the list is infinite, but here's some food for thought: shame, guilt, fear, anger, bad relationships, expectations, grief, resistance, dependency...

And through all of this letting go, the mind is clinging with fierce determination to what it knows. "The devil you know is better (safer) than the devil you don't!" we exclaim. The dangerous unknown lurks in front of us like an abysmal hole. The purpose of the mind or Ego is to keep us safe - that part of ourselves will do whatever it takes to accomplish its mission of keeping us safe from harm - and what could be more unsafe than the unknown or change? However, a full cup cannot be filled with something new - it must be emptied first. Let go!

If we can allow ourselves to open up with grace (or without, as the case may be) and trust to the unknown and something different, what we find is a whole new world of options and possibilities. The Divine has more in store for us than we can imagine for ourselves, but our job is to have faith and let go!

The question is how? How can we let go when our "monkey mind" is clinging tight to its vine? There are 5 simple steps to easing into faith and "letting go and letting God":

1. Label that part of yourself that is afraid. Give it a name and make it as real in your mind as possible. This gives you something to focus on.

2. Let it express its fear through journaling or meditation.

3. Speak to it gently as you would a frightened child. Don't dismiss it - it will only cry louder!

4. Get silent and still so that you can hear the still, small voice within - this is what will tell you your next step, if any.

5. Breathe! It is so important during these times of change to remember to breathe.

By giving voice to your fears, you allow that voice to know it's being listened to. Only then can it begin to be comforted. Then the monkey can finally let go of that vine - that's the only way you'll be able to catch the next vine - much like a trapeze artist, in order to catch one trapeze the artist must let go of the one they are holding and trust that the one they need will be where it needs to be when they let go.

Remember that when a window is closed, a door is opened. Go ahead, close that window! Let go and live life!

Wow! Never heard of that either! I had a dear friend who had severe epileptic seizures before her death. Her doctors told us to roll her on her side, and never to place an object in her mouth as a tongue depressor when having a seizure.

I think the Board Game's question should have been more clear. The "safety pin" answer is obviously for someone who has *already* swallowed their tongue. Still seems a bit drastic.

Edit: Another thing that seems dumb: If you've already used the safety pin to pull the tongue out the throat, I can't imagine what is the purpose of attaching the string to tie the tongue down.
