It is a little known fact that it is easier for male actors to get work than female actors. This is mainly due to male dominated movies but how long do male acting careers last? Here are a few leading men who have managed to withstand the test of time in the acting business.

* Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt has to be one of the most attractive leading men but is he the most successful? With many many films under his belt it seems that he has managed a good career so far and doesn't look like he's stopping soon. Brad Pitt was born in Oklahoma and was brought up in a happy setting. His first role on screen was when he turned 24. He had a string of bit parts and small movies but his career really took off when he played one of the leading parts in Interview with a Vampire. This immediately took him to leading man status and he has spent the last 15 years taking lead after lead. Being so attractive and such a popular celebrity, Brad Pitt's private life seems to constantly be in the news.

* Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise has also had an extremely successful career. Born in 1962, Tom Cruise briefly wanted to be a Catholic priest before deciding to become an actor. Tom Cruise's first major role was the leading male in Top Gun. This role catapulted him into stardom and he has since been in many brilliant movies. Tom Cruise's personal life is also well publicized. He had a long marriage with famous actress Nicole Kidman and the split was documented in all newspapers and gossip magazines. He is also well-known for his religious beliefs which is Scientology. Tom Cruise is truly the definition of a leading man.

* George Clooney

George Clooney is another great leading man. He started his career with TV sitcom ER and went on to stardom from there. George Clooney has been in many successful films such as O Brother Where ArtTthou? and Ocean's Eleven. George Clooney is not only a leading man but is somewhat a hit with the ladies. With his chiseled good looks and his sexy low voice he has had many celebrity flings.

Leading men are not only great actors but are style icons, too. All celebrities are carefully scrutinized by what they wear and how they accessorize which is why they need to make a good impression! You won't catch these guys out at the Oscars without their ties and matching cufflinks! In fact if you do spot them making a fashion statement with a tie don't expect it to still be in stock by the time you come to buy it. With celeb status like these guys whatever they wear will soon be the next "must have" item! Aside from their fashion sense and great talent these leading men also have other interests. They do a lot for charity for raising awareness and it's quite refreshing to see a celebrity use their popularity for good.

So next time you pass a cinema and see that one of these leading men's films are showing then do not just pass by! Go in and watch these masters at work!

George Clooney is coming to St. Louis for the making of a movie in Feb. Does anyone know where to apply?

I am a Film Production major, and am seeking work on this film, but cannot find any info on how to do that. I have checked KSDK's website, Craigslist, and googled the question, but have had no luck. I know they need 2000 extras, now I just need to know where to apply.
