every concert has a contest they start at 4:30

Get there at least 2 hours ahead to be in line for the judging.

There was a contest a Madison Square Garden, Check out You Tube. There were so many people that they didn't get to judge everyone was so they made a video claiming how unfair the Chevy poster contest was.

The rules state they judge for 1 hour 4:30-5:30. In that time slot is what they can judge.

This magazine is a teen magazine that always includes stars like Jonas Brother,Miley Cyrus, Ryan Shecklar,Selena Gomez,Demi Lovato, Zac Efron and etc. The fron cover is loaded with many pictures of different stars and their main story in this mag. It's always wrapped in Plastic I think so no one can look at it enless they purchase it, and from what i have seen it has a huge poster in the back recently it has been Jonas Brothers because their popularity is rising. It is a great question! They actually have many functions. They are a great visual guide to finding the white keys. They have a different sound from the white keys. They are also used to "feel" your way around the piano to find keys quickly.

A Visual Guide

When you look at the piano you will notice that the black keys (or black notes) are grouped in 2 then 3, 2 then 3 over the entire keyboard. The white keys are named after the first 7 letters of the alphabet - A B C D E F G. The black keys are the reference point for finding and naming the white keys.

C is the most well used note on the piano. C lies immediately to the left of 2 black notes. D lies in between them. E is immediately to the right. F is the First of the 3 black notes (this is an easy way to remember F). So you can find all 7 white notes by referencing them from the layout of the black notes.

A Different Sound

Play C. Then play the black key to the right of C. What do you notice about the sound?

Play D. Then play the black key to the right of D. The black keys rise in pitch as you move up the piano.

The black key that lies between C and D sounds exactly half way between the 2 white keys. You move up a half step. This note is called C sharp (C up a half step). It is also called D flat (D down a half step).

"Feel" the Keys

When you move from one part of the piano to another, brush your fingers over the black notes as you move. Use the piano layout as a reference for finding notes by feel.

Try this exercise - sit at the piano, close your eyes and find C, just by touch.
