When do infants start sleeing through the night? SIDS????

When do infants start to sleep through the night?? My dauhter is 10 weeks old and sleeps about 5-6 hrs and then wakes for a bottle. I her people saying their babies sleep 10-12 hrs and wanted to know if that was rare or should I expect it to happen soon, or does it start when you add cereal to the bottle.
As for sleeping throuh the night, is this usually the time when sids can occur? Are babies just forgeting to breathe, or are they being suffocated by somehing in their crib? I am extremely pranoid about this and somewhat afraid to let my baby sleep through the night for fear she will sleep too long and it may occur. Also after she eats and usually falls asleep I prop her up in her boppy pillow for an hour just in case she spits up on her back and chokes. is it possible that these babies are choking in their cribs??? Any info that might set my mind at ease would greatly be appreciated, because i can't seem to stop worrying.

Breathe! I know how you feel. Your daughter has a perfectly normal sleeping schedule. I have heard about people whose babies sleep through the night at way young ages, but I haven't met them! My son didn't sleep through the night until he was 11 months. I know many kids who took longer than that. And, you will be happy to know, that "sleeping through the night" for an infant is defined as 4-6 straight hours. She is doing well! And, about SIDS. The best thing to do is look up the risk factors for SIDS on the internet. Being able to eliminate those risk factors for your baby will make you feel better. Just make sure she is not too warm, there is nothing in her crib and you put her on her back. Back sleeping is recommended to help prevent them from choking on spit up. There have many recent studies on SIDS you may want to look up, but SIDS is highly correlated with having a smoker in the home, being born premature or being exposed to nicotine or drugs in-utero. Some have suggested it may be a mitochondrial defect that they are born with that makes it difficult for them to breathe. Lastly, babies who wake up at night are at LESS risk for SIDS, as are babies who are breast-fed. I hope this helps!

Who first came up with the alphabet song and how did it get so popular so fast?

I was just thinking today that it was pretty slick to put the alphabet to such a catchy tune. I wonder if it was a mom or dad or teacher, or what. It is amazing to me that almost every parent in the states sings the abc song to their kids to help them learn it. My husband comes from another country, and they don't sing their alphabet. In fact, he thought it was odd when I first sang it to our baby.

The alphabet song was first copyrighted in 1835 by the Boston-based music publisher Charles Bradlee, and given the title "The A.B.C., a German air with variations for the flute with an easy accompaniment for the piano forte". There is a remote possibility you may be referring to "The Five People You Meet In Heaven". I am not certain as it has been a long time since I read the novel by Mitch Alblom and saw the movie version of it starring Jon Voight. Both the book and the movie were excellent pieces of work. If it turns out not to be what you are seeking, your uncle would certainly enjoy it just the same as the plot structure and developement are very similar.

Most men choose a suits color based off of two factors. The salesman says the color looks good and the man buying the suit can not find anything wrong with it. The problem here is that most men do not know what colors compliment their complexion, and instead of choosing a color that enhances their looks they choose a color that simply fits in.

Have you ever wondered why you see so many men wearing navy blue suits? Its not that this color enhances so many men's natural style; its just men playing the game of safety in numbers. The purpose of this article is to open your eyes to the world of men's suit colors and encourage you to choose a fabric that compliments your individual style.

The Triad: Navy Blue, Black and Charcoal Gray

These three colors dominate the men's suit industry, and for good reason. Most men are complimented by one or more of these dark colors. Dark suits have the ability to seamlessly transition from business to pleasure, in addition to a slimming effect of the silhouette. Let us talk about each color quickly

Navy Blue

Navy blues strength lies in its sheer dominance. Most men own at least one, and if you have ever walked into a business meeting you can be sure more than half the men will be clad in one. But this is its chief weakness; how can you stand out when 90% of your body looks exactly the same as over 50% of the room. We tend to forget that our clothing sends off strong signals, and if you want to be anything but average you want to present yourself as such, not always try to blend in. In addition, those with a very light complexion need to pair navy blue with rich colored shirts; a white or ice blue shirt will drain the color right from their face. Finally, young men are advised to avoid this color as that it has a habit off accentuating youth.

Black

A more difficult color to wear, it is perceived by many as the choice for funerals and weddings. No argument there; however, it is so much more for the man with the right complexion. No other color has such a slimming effect, and depending on the dress shirt it can go from regular office wear to drinks with friends at the hippest nightclubs in New York. The key to wearing black is being a high contrast individual, a man with dark hair with light to medium colored skin. The effect is a properly framed face to where all the attention is drawn.

Charcoal Gray

Charcoal gray suits projects an image of authority, stability, and professionalism. It is an excellent choice for a first suit, especially for young men as that it does accentuate youth (unlike Navy Blue). Although clearly lighter than black or navy blue when placed side by side, it nonetheless is just as acceptable at all business functions and interview situations. Possibly the most versatile color, it looks good with almost any colored shirt imaginable.

Colors more men should consider.

Brown

Brown ranges from a light through a deep chocolate hue. Many men look their best in earth-tones, making the brown suit an important part of their wardrobe; it is also a popular color for causal options including tweed suits and sports jackets. One caveat: until the early 1980s, brown was not considered a color for business (we can thank Ronald Reagan for their return). While the times have changed there are still some members of the old guard who continue to hold to the old rule that brown does not belong in town. This should not dissuade the well-dressed gentleman from wearing brown with confidence, but it is important to be aware.

Tan

The navy suit for warm weather, tan is an excellent choice. Less flashy than white, it none the less commands attention and can set you apart from the crowd while keeping you cool. If you live in a cold weather city, a tan suit is ideal for spring and summer while in a warmer climate it is appropriate year round. The tan suit pairs well with white, light blue, or any pale pastel shirt. Best of all, this gives you the chance to really make your dark ties stand out.

Taupe

A color that falls between gray and brown, taupe is a great choice for the man who has a couple of the basic colored suits in his wardrobe and is looking for a color out of the ordinary that still maintains a professional appearance. Great for use year round, the taupe suit is a little less dressy than a charcoal suit but more likely to draw compliments because of it's ability to compliment a man's finer features.

Light Gray

A great spring and summer color that doesn't draw attention to the wearer but instead signals a suave persona confident in his own skin, light gray is an excellent choice for any complexion. Live in a warmer climate? Then light gray is appropriate year round. The light gray suit pairs well with white, light blue, and almost any pale colored shirt, although if you are light complected you may want to go with a bolder hue.

White

The Classic color of summer. You don't have to be Tom Wolfe to stay cool and look great. White compliments all but the lightest complexions, and even then the right shirt choice can remedy that situation. The key to wearing a white suit is confidence, especially in the United States where a suit in this color is hard to come by.

Where to find all of these fabric colors? Most stores only carry a small selection of the dark colors that they can regularly sell; the good news is that several on-line men's fashion houses can make you a custom suit from one of thousands of fabrics.

Nowadays, people in the entire world know well who are Edward Cullen and Bella Swan. They know very well who of them is human and who of them is vampire. However, when people are asked about Stephenie Meyer, they might just answer that she is the author of The Twilight Saga. They might not know a lot about her career and her achievements in writings. Stephenie Meyer was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1973 but she was settled in Phoenix in her age of four with her family. She attended Chaparral High School in Scottsdale, Arizona. Then, she wrote it into words and sentences in the late of the night when her house is pretty quiet, and amazingly she finished the first book, Twilight, in three months only. This book then reached its success in 2005.

Started from this year, she delivered the second book, New Moon, in September 2006 and the third book, Eclipse in 2007. In May 2008, she delivered her other novel, The Host, in the market and still in the list of bestseller more than a year after its debut. Then, the final book of the Twilight Saga was released at 12:01 midnight on August 2, 2008.

The Twilight Saga became more and more famous when Twilight the movie was released on November 21, 2008. It was directed by Catherine Hardwicke and starring Robert Pattinson as Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart as Bella Swan. Then, New Moon was released on November 16, 2009 in USA, and Eclipse also will be released on June 30, 2010.

Although she could be considered as a new American author, Meyer has achieved a lot of awards. They are A Publishers Weekly Best Book of the Year, An Amazon.com Best Book of the Decade...So Far, A Teen People Hot List pick, as well as An American Library Association Top Ten Best Book for Young Adults and Top Ten Books for Reluctant Readers.

Leo Fender is one of the most well-known, iconic names in the guitar and music industry. He's the man who successfully converted acoustic guitars to electric guitars and also made acoustic electric guitars along with a number of patents for amplifiers and tremolo systems. He was born in Southern California and developed an interest in tinkering with electronics after his uncle made a radio from spare parts.

Fender grew up during two world wars and a debilitating depression and through it all went to junior college studying to be an accountant. In his spare time, he always tinkered with electrical items and never took any kind of electronics course while in college. His electronics background was strictly self-taught which led him to create a number of noteworthy patents in the musical and guitar instrumentation fields.

There is not a rock and roll, country, or pop music group that does not use a Fender guitar or amp system. There isn't a guitar enthusiast who doesn't know the Fender name, which is synonymous with the acoustic electric guitar or amplifier for a great sound at concerts.

In the early days during World War II, Leo teamed up with an inventor and steel guitar musician, Clayton Orr "Doc" Kauffman, to form K&F Manufacturing Corporation. They designed and built amplified Hawaiian guitars and amplifiers. Through the years, they developed amplifiers for musicians, making rugged systems that travel and hard knocks.

Through his 82 years, Leo Fender was a workaholic and a tinkerer. He was so unassuming his coffee cup was a Styrofoam cup with "Leo" printed in felt marker. He worked seven days a week because he loved to work with electronics and develop more products to market in a growing and grateful industry. By 1964, CBS bought his company for $13 million and he signed a non-compete clause for 10 years that he honored.

By 1975, he was in business again with other partners to develop and build more guitar styles and amp systems. He continued to work despite several small strokes and Parkinson's Disease. He worked the day before he died on March 21, 1991.

This man, who single-handedly changed the music industry and did more for the modern electric guitar and acoustic electric guitar, had taken piano lessons as a child and played saxophone in high school, but never learned how to play the guitar--ironic twist for a musical icon.

I love Agatha Christie (her books, that is)!
Personally, I prefer her stories that are neither Poirot or Miss Marple, but these ones are still good. Murder on the Orient Express has a very good reputation, as well as the Murder of Roger Ackroyd. I haven't read these yet, though, the plot of both of them have been spoilt by some (evil) people. Hopefully in forty years I will have forgotten what has happened and can read them without knowing what will happen. The Mysterious Affair at Styles is okay, and Curtain ranks about the same, but these two are notable books because they are both Poirot's first and last appearances. The first Poirot book I read was Five Little Pigs which surprised me so much in the end because I didn't expect to be blown away so much by the conclusion. It was good, but that may just be because it was my first. Now, after reading several of Agatha Christie's books, I can start to identify, even though I try to avoid, the most unlikely character, and therefore the perpetrator of the crime, which is a pity. Murder on the Links is also another good Poirot book. Murder in Mesopotamia was also excellent, not featuring the traditional setting and utterly baffling me right to the very end.

Agatha Christie wrote her first Poirot novel in 1920 at the age of 30 and her last Poirot novel in 1975, 55 years later and a year before her death in 1976.

In After the Funeral, Cora Gallaccio turns up dead the day after attending her brother's funeral. As the plot unfolds, it turns out that her brother was also murdered, and all 6 primary relatives appear as excellent suspects.

I love the Hercule Poirot series of movies and have seldom been disappointed in the works of Agatha Christie and David Suchet who brings her work to perfection in his characterization of Poirot.

In watching these murder mysteries involving Hercule Poirot, Agatha Christie makes sure that nearly everyone is seen as a logical suspect and spreads clues around like chocolates in a candy shop.

The game for me is to try and figure out who the killer is before it is all explained by Poirot at the end of each murder mystery.

I am never able to figure it out, much less all of the actual details of how, when and why, which is exactly why Hercule Poirot generally gets at least 3 stars in my review.

The other reason is David Suchet who polishes the role of Hercule Poirot without ever going out of character or missing a cue. Suchet was born to play this role and makes Hercule character unforgettable to viewers around the world.

Any Hercule Poirot presentation by David Suchet is a good look and a good movie. Perhaps the only greater mystery than why Hercule Poirot is as he is, is how Agatha Christie managed to be so creative that no one ever figures out who did it before Poirot, and, in the process, keeps us attracted to the action like a bee to pollen.

Hercule Poirot: Dumb Witness - 4 Stars (Excellent)

Poirot (David Suchet) receives a letter from Emily Arundell (Ann Morrish), a wealthy woman who believes someone is trying to kill her, and before Poirot can consult with her, she dies. Two of her nieces and one nephew would stand to inherit a fortune, but a late change in her will gives all of her wealth to her companion and friend, Miss Lawson.

The Dumb Witness turns out to be Arundell's clever terrier dog, and Hercule Poirot could not solve this murder without the help of the terrier, who cannot talk but does act out in a way that leads Poirot to the killer. "This dog is very clever," says Poirot, "he must be Belgian."

Hercule Poirot: Peril at End House - 3 Stars (Good)

Poirot's vacation trip to Cornwall becomes a business trip when the charming Nick Buckley casually mentions that she has narrowly escaped death three times in three days. Poirot (David Suchet) is not so sure about the presumed accidents and, sure enough, Nick's cousin Maggie is shot dead while getting a coat. Poirot, of course, sorts it all out in the end.

This mystery is a classic for me as it includes the regulars from the A&E series: Poirot's sidekick Captain Arthur Hastings (Hugh Fraser), Chief Inspector Japp from Scotland Yard (Philip Jackson) and Poirot's secretary Miss Lemon (Pauline Moran).

The hapless Miss Lemon absolutely adores Hercule, but he who misses nothing that is going on, never gives a hint that he even recognizes her unspoken romantic interest. Hercule usually puts stamps into a collector's book or counsels himself on the art of exercising his gray cells.
