Kal Bashir's 188 stage Hero's Journey (Monomyth) is the template upon which the vast majority of successful stories and Hollywood blockbusters are based upon. In fact, ALL of the hundreds of Hollywood movies we have deconstructed (see URL below) are based on this 188+ stage template.

Understanding this template is a priority for story or screenwriters. This is the template you must master if you are to succeed in the craft.

SITUATIONAL AND STRUCTURAL STORYTELLING

It's important to get away from this idea that all stories are different.

On a situational level all stories are. For example, Gladiator (2000), Alien (1979) and The Godfather (1972) all are situationally very different.

But on a structural and subconscious level, they're all the same.

And I don't mean basic structure, like three act structure (of course stories have a beginning, middle and end). And I don't mean plot points etc either (Plot Point 1 and 2, Midpoint etc).

I mean, sequence by sequence, the vast majority of successful stories [we haven't found one that doesn't] follow the same process that pushes the Hero and Major Characters through the process of Transformation and Challenge Resolution.

What this means is that you, as a writer, must confidently understand this structure (Kal Bashir's 188+ stage Hero's Journey), use it to establish your structural outline and then superimpose your situation over it.

Posters are cool. Some of them are rare, some of them are being collected as a part of a hobby, but only a small percentage of them are effective. All in all, if there is no poster, there is no event/film/band, at least for an average viewer. We will be discussing on what's important in your posters, placing them and what you should have in them.

The first key to posters is - if they can be seen easily, they will be seen and your party/movie/business/idea will be recognized by people.

The second key to posters is - delivering an informational message is better than delivering none. What's important is - you are putting yourself on the line, be responsible for your posters, especially if they are on public places. No one likes to walk by an ugly poster every day.

Poster efficiency follows this simple formula - the likelihood to close the customer = times seen * like/dislike. People hate or love your posters more and more each day. Everyone sees them and it is clearly only your responsibility to create them good and convert clients.

Also, if you're planning advertising an event with posters, you should probably offer the people coming something for free or something exclusive, like "drinks for free for people with wizard hats at my party", or "get to ask ME, THE HOST of the party free questions".

A good poster is with a clear motto, a good image and a quality look. You can only make your poster stand out if it's put on good paper. Posters are usually done on canvas prints and there are quality services out there on the internet to suit your canvas printing needs - you don't have to visit your local typography for them.

How much is a Star Wars poster with Leonardo Dicaprio as Anakin worth? just wondering.?

I found an official looking promo mounted poster with other glossy photos from the movie. The funny thing is that it is actually Leonardo Dicaprio pictured as Anakin. I know he turned the role down but I was wondering if any promo pictures were made. If so, how many and what might it be worth. Wont be selling but will need to insure.

If it is real, and not just a bootleg, then I would guess it would be worth quite a lot. I don't see how it could be a "misprint," as its not like they accidently substituted Leonardo Dicaprio's face for Anakins; it would make sense that they might have actually made a few movie posters. Or, it could just be someone trying to make money, but even this could amount to something. Some people have actually started collecting the bootlegs. Either way, it's a win-win situation.

You could also look to the "Revenge of the Jedi" posters. Originally, "Return of the Jedi" was supposed to be "Revenge of the Jedi," and there were a few posters printed. Then Lucas decided that it wouldn't be characteristic of a Jedi to want revenge, so he changed it to the title we know today. These rare "Revenge" posters go for about $1,000, although now people have started reprinting them. I put two examples from ebay below.

If you seriously want to get it insured, I would probably go to an appraiser. Although this way, you get all of these Star Wars fans drooling over your treasure. Lucky you!

If you were a product of the 80s and are planning a 40th birthday party, focusing on that era may be just the right theme for you and your friends, especially those who are of similar age. An Eighties Night party will allow you relive those childhood or teen years and give you a chance to immerse yourself in the unique culture of that crazy era. Like, totally!

Many experts refer to the 1980s as the "Me" era - a decade of excess when things were over-the-top and people cared more about how they looked and what was best for them than anything else. Serve plenty of popcorn and Pop-Rocks candy and keep the tissues handy!

Great 80s party games should include a rousing round of Trivial Pursuit. The game was first introduced in 1982 and there's a "Totally 80s" edition that can be purchased for use with the standard game board. This is a great game to play as individuals or in teams and it can last for a few hours. (Consider a shortened version if you're pressed for time.) Guests can also play "Pin the Glove on Michael" (just get an MJ poster and a white glove) or some Pac-Man, if available.

And don't send your party guests home without a few 1980s-era party favors.

Fill up neon-colored bags with mini Rubik's cubes, jelly bracelets and rings, fishnet fingerless gloves (a la Madonna), neon sunglasses, and a CD mix featuring your favorite 80s tunes.

Everyone knows a nerd. He's the guy who is way too into Star Wars. He can talk about computers only using letters. He doesn't have the best fashion sense, and may even have a slightly pale complexion from long hours indoors. But even this guy wants to be cool.

Who doesn't? I mean, no one actually goes out with the intention of looking "nerdy". For those who do, it seems that the way they look and the things they talk about aren't priorities that match up to each other. I'm not suggesting, though, that those who are well dressed only talk about clothes. It's just that for the true "nerd", fashion is not typically a top priority!

But these guys have feelings, too and probably some social goals as well. While they may spend most of their time organizing their Star Wars action figures or chatting with fellow "trekkies" online, at some point, they begin to see a need for some actual human interaction.

But what to do? The nerd's apartment is most likely set-up to indulge his obsessions - be they computer, game systems or action figures. How can this guy help himself in the social department without selling out? While it may seem next to impossible, it can be done. I have three words for you: air hockey tables.

That's right, an air hockey table is just enough to rescue even the most hopeless nerd from the morass of nerdiness. A game or two of air hockey is fun, is active, and is something anyone can do.
