Don't play numbers that can give your opponent a win

When a game of Cribbage is started it is often the tendency of the beginner to play the good cards first. This is the wrong approach to take when you are leading the game. If you are making the opening play of the game, you do not want to play a 5 card or a 10 card. It will be safer if you played a 7 for instance. This is because the 5 card gives your opponent a chance to score a 2 if he or she has a 10 value card. The same goes for the 10, if your opponent has a 5, the first set of points will be awarded to them.

In a 2 player game, try to take the lead for a run

No, this does not mean that you need to take the person who played the first card for a jog around the block. It simply means that you need to anticipate your opponent's cards. When it comes time for earning some points, and you think that your opponent's cards are suited to your own, play a card that will start a run. This could be any value card that allows you to run for a few rounds to form a three of a kind or a flush. So, if you were to play a 6, your opponent could play a 7, which is the start of a run. You will then need to top his play with an 8 and score 3 points.

Try keeping the lower cards for last

A mistake often made by a beginner to the game of Cribbage, is to play all of the lower cards first so as to not go over 31 and bust. This is a common misconception. The trick is to get rid of your higher cards and play the game so that you could end up, if you do not win, with the lower cards in your hands. Alternatively, if there is a chance that you might win, you will need that lower value card to play in the last card slot, because chances are that you will only need a 3 to play for 15, or to remain lower than 31.

How can I keep loose decks of playing cards together?

I have a collection of playing cards. Some decks have lost their original boxes when I acquired them. I tried rubber bands, but after a while they leave an indentation in the cards or disintegrate, become gummy and ruin the cards. I have hundreds of decks, so I need a solution that's quick, easy and inexpensive and also one that will allow the card decks to be seen.

I use zip loc bags for all my cards.....It may not be the best thing, but it works, Then I have a small clear container, that I put them all in

All you would need is some red and black tights, a black shirt with a short red vest, some red and black fishnet gloves, and then some facepaint. If I were you, I would do your hair in pigtails instead of buying a hat. It's "sexier" with the pigtails.

Having a "best of" list always leads to arguments. Especially when discussing something like video games. Everybody has their favorites and their as loyal to them as a dog is to its master. For this list, I am strictly just referring to pre-1990. This should be the definition of classic arcade gaming. It's just like 60s rock n roll: They transformed oldies into classic rock. The 80s should go down as the most important in video game history.

So with that being said here is my very unofficial (it changes everyday) top 10 best classic arcade games of all time are:

No. 10) Pac-Man- The originator. The video game that even your grandmother heard of.

No. 9) Donkey Kong- Introduced the world to Mario. That alone should make it an institution.

No. Burgertime- The song by itself was worth the quarter it cost to play.

No. 7) Ghosts N Goblins- A game way ahead of its time. Added ambiance to the world of gaming.

No. 6) Outrun- The original car game. There's been car games before and since. But this one is king. It has yet to be duplicated.

No. 5) Road Blasters- What's better than a driving game? A driving game where you can shoot cars.

No. 4) Track and Field- The first ever button masher. Nearly lost an index finger to this one.

No. 3) Gauntlet- The cabinet was HUGE!! First game I ever saw where 4 players could play. To an 8 year old, it looked like a mini-cathedral.

No. 2) Contra- Before First person shooters ruled the gaming world, this was the shooter that everyone lined up for. The NES version got more credit, but if it wasn't for the 30 lives code, the arcade version was far superior.

No. 1) Double Dragon- The only 80s arcade game that I have ever played where at times I couldn't put a quarter in the slot because the machine was full.

Q: My 3-year-old has been watching his 9 and 11-year-old brothers play video games, and he wants to start playing games too. I know that there are games out there for kids his age, but is 3 too young for him to start?

A: There are many video games available for three-year-olds, including one by Fisher Price that has tots pedal a miniature stationary bike to work the game. But I would advise delaying having your son play video games for at least another year. The American Academy of Pediatrics suggests that children under three shouldn't spend any time in front of the "screen" (TV or video games), although that may be a bit unrealistic. A recent survey from the Kaiser Family Foundation found that half of all four to six-year-olds play video games, and about 25% play several times a week.

As with all children, the real question is: How much time playing video and computer games are we talking about? Beginning at four, children might find some video games entertaining and educational, but they should really be spending their time in more active and imaginative play. Time spent playing video games becomes much more of a problem beginning at five or six, when there is a significant push to get kids on Internet sites like WebKinz, and many more commercial games are available for the various video consoles. And things don't get better. In the 'tween years, many kids add instant messaging and social networking sites to their repertoire of time-consuming sedentary interests.

An article in the NY Times, "Moving Beyond Joysticks, and Off the Couch," by Tara Parker-Pope, asks a new question: Are active video games like the WII system better for kids than traditional sit-on-the- couch games? The articles quotes several studies suggesting that active games that require kids to dance or use body movements to control the action on the screen may burn as many calories as walking on a treadmill.

But while games that require kids to get off their bottoms are probably better than sedentary games, this is only a slight improvement. Clearly, being outside on a bike or skiing or playing tennis in the fresh air, with real people, is preferable than doing these activities in a virtual world.

As with so many issues in child-rearing, the best answer involves appropriate use of the "L" word. No, I'm not talking about love; the "L" word I'm referring to is limits.

Parents need to determine a limit for their children to be in front of the screen (TV, video games, computers) for each child, and don't exceed it. My recommendations would be: one-half hour or less a day for children ages 3-5, one hour a day or less for children ages 6-12, two hours a day for teens (which hopefully would include using the computer for educational purposes). Of course setting limits is one thing, and getting kids to do things like chores, reading, or sports is another. Responsible parents need to work at both limiting questionable habits and supporting habits which lead to physical and mental health. When it comes to video games other gadgets and gizmos, the sooner you teach good technology habits, the better.

Jesus of Suburbia is this anti-hero invented by Billie Joe Armstrong. Jesus of Suburbia hates his town and those close to him, so he leaves for the city. As the album progresses the characters St. Jimmy and Whatsername are introduced. St. Jimmy is a punk rock freedom fighter. Whatsername, inspired by the Bikini Kill song "Rebel Girl", is kind of a "Mother Revelation" figure. According to Billie Joe, St. Jimmy commits suicide in the end.

The song "Wake Me Up When September Ends" was written for Billie Joe's father who died of cancer when he was 10 years old.
And my friend told me "American Idiot" was written about George Bush but I'm not sure.

Motion pictures centered around deceased bloodsucking folkloric preternaturals, or vampires as they are more commonly referred to as, have certainly come along way since the good old days when Bela Lugosi's Dracula "vanted to suck your blood." And even though F.W. Murnau set the bar incredibly high in 1922 with his iconic German expressionist film, Nosferatu, the vampire subgenre has no doubt seen its ups and downs in the eighty-eight years that followed.

Of course you have the many great ones that we have seen, like Let The Right One In and The Lost Boys that have kept our spirits high. Unfortunately, we also have all the garbage that comes out that continuously drags the popular vampire mythology through the dirt, like the Twilight saga (sorry Twihards, it's just my opinion).

Luckily, Hollywood's latest contribution to the vampire counter culture appears as though it could pan out to be one of the better ones. This weekend, Lionsgate Entertainment will release Daybreakers upon the world, a futuristic humans-vs-vampires sci-fi/horror flick starring Ethan Hawke (Training Day, Before Sunrise) and Willem Dafoe (The Boondock Saints, Platoon).

The film takes place in the year 2019 in a fictitious world where the majority of the human race has been transformed into vampires thanks to a mysterious, unexplainable plague that swept across the planet. With so many bloodsucking coffin-dwellers roaming the earth, it doesn't take long for their primary source of food, that being us, to become an endangered species. Now, the few human beings left are forced into hiding as they fight for their survival from all the hungry, hungry vampires, who must come up with a solution to their dwindling food supply.

In the movie, Hawke plays Edward Dalton, a vampire scientist with a conscious. Instead of feasting on human flesh like the rest of his brethren, Dalton spends his days trying to perfect a concoction of his that would work as an alternative to human blood in which vampires could survive on, therefore ending the global slaughter of the human race. But when he stumbles upon a medical discovery that both humans and vampires would kill to know, it doesn't take him long before being on the run from both species.

Daybreakers was written and directed by Michael and Peter Spierig, the filmmaking duo who first appeared on the scene in 2003 thanks to their campy, down under zombie film, Undead. Moving from one horror subgenre to the next, the Spierig brothers will soon unveil their vampire flick to the world, hoping filmgoers appreciate their creative approach to the traditional vampire folklore. As Michael Spierig explains it, "Daybreakers questions how we would adapt if we all became vampires tomorrow. It twists the rules of typical vampire movies without discarding or disrespecting what we love about the genre."

With a lead star known more for his dramatic independent fare, Ethan Hawke admits he was hesitant to give the Spierigs' innovative horror script a chance. "I had absolutely no intention of liking it," Hawke declared. "I decided that I'd give it ten pages, and by page five I knew that I was going to do it. I could tell right away that the story was completely unique and a lot of fun. It's my hope that the movie will work with people who are determined not to like sci-fi/horror movies, as I was, and that those who do like them will really love this one."

With the film's trailer promising a very dark, blood-soaked vampire film much in the vein of the recently released 30 Days of Night, the Spierig brothers look to cement their status in the horror world as two of the most promising, up and coming filmmakers in the genre by delivering a film both horror and sci-fi fans will enjoy. But don't worry; it hasn't gotten to their head.

The brothers made a name for themselves thanks to a often humorous and very gory approach to their films. And even though Daybreakers is a much more serious, sinister film then their debut Undead was, the brothers reportedly have kept their keen sense of humor intact. Daybreakers reportedly starts out with an opening-credits montage depicting a world run by vampires as they stop in a local Starbucks during their commute to work for an early-morning shot of blood. Now that's some clever satire. Daybreakers opens in theaters everywhere this Friday, January 8, 2010.

If you are looking for games for kids in a PS2 (Playstation 2) platform, there are quite a lot to choose from but not all of them are actually appropriate for children - or kids might just not think they're fun!

Here is a list of the top Kids PS2 Games for 2009 - all of which are appropriate (rated E or E 10) and highly rated for "funnability":

1. Wall-E for PS2 - This is not a great game for kids who are experienced gamers (they may find it boring), but is an excellent choice for the youngest, less experienced kids who are starting out. Of course, this game is based on the movie, "Wall-E", complete with the familiar environments from the film. It's basically a "point and shoot" game, and it's good for some great laughs as well. This one is top on the list of the most popular (appropriate) games for kids.

2. Katamari Damacy for PS2 - This is a game that sort of "out of the blue" became popular, originally being popular in Japan. The object of the game is to "save the heavens" by rolling a ball of everyday objects together on earth - the ball eventually becomes a monstrous monstrosity - the game is hilarious!

3. Lego Indiana Jones the Original Adventures for PS2 - This is a game based on all the original Indiana Jones movies - when advancing to a new level, a new movie theme is started. It's not only fun and challenging but is quite amusing as well.

4. Disney Pixar Cars for PS2 - The characters in this game are every bit as good as the ones in the movie. Of course, the game is based around a racing theme with 30 mini games to play as well. Games can be played in either single or multi-player mode.

5. Kingdom Hearts for PS2 - This is probably the most unusual game in the lineup, having a complete "mish-mash" of a whole lineup of Disney characters as well as characters from Final Fantasy. These characters together battle against enemies, the main character is named "Sora". (I personally recommend this game for kids 10 and older rather than for very young children.)

So - if you're checking out what games would be good for your kids - or if you are looking for Kids PS2 Games and are not sure what to buy, the games above very likely would be hits with kids - and they don't have any inappropriate "surprises" to go along with them.
